California

We went to California the first week of January with Jeremy's parents, grandparents, and brother Michael and sister-in-law Juana.

We drove and covered quite a bit of area, stopped in at Jelly Belly...

We went to the Winchester House in San Jose, I'd never been there before but was really cool!

We then met up with Jeremy's cousin Ashleigh and her fiance Brian for breakfast.

We then drove down 101 and stopped in San Simeon near southern California and went to the Hearst Castle...wow that was amazing!

We then headed to Santa Barbara and saw Jeremy's cousin Kaelee and her boyfriend Matt - we had lunch at a great Mexican place called Freebird's!

We got back in the truck and drove to Anaheim, where we spent 3 full days at Disneyland. Jeremy's cousins Mark, Jonathan, Kirstie, Victoria, Bryce, and Aunt Katherine met us there, Uncle Kurt also stopped in before headed to a business trip. We were lucky and had awesome weather the whole time we were there...70's in January! We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel which was a nice treat! My college friend Emily met us for dinner one night too. We had a great time and saw some wonderful sunsets!

We started our journey back home and stopped and met my brothers for dinner before starting the journey back to Oregon. It was a nice week away to relax!

Now it's back to reality...and the rain!

In other news, work has been going good, keeping busy as always. I found out that our office will be relocating to the Bridgeport Village area this spring. Not ideal since my current commute is about 25 minutes to Tanasbourne area. I'm thankful to have a great job so I can deal with the commute!

Today I had my review at work and have received really good reviews that last few years so I didn't keep my hopes up because I didn't know if they'd continue to give me really good reviews...well today I received an extremely good review! :)

We'll always miss you buttercup!

Happy girl after getting groomed :)

It's been just over a month since we lost our wonderful Dixie.  It was so hard at first and still is hard, but our family and friends have been so supportive! We are doing better but not a day goes by that we don't think about her. She left so many memories behind...like chewing our TiVo remote, dog hair that still seems to end up on things, no one to pick up food dropped on the floor when I'm cooking.  She was truly amazing.  We would like to get another dog from the same breeder, Aussie are so amazing but this breeder has amazing dogs.  Lexi's my parents dog (Dixie's sister from another litter) has a sister named Kizme that had puppies this summer is going to be bread again, so we hope to get another puppy from her next litter, we're not sure when she's expected to go into heat. My parents bought her for us as a wedding gift, she was expensive and I remember my dad always asking after we got her if I'd pay what they got for her, I always smiled, after she passed I told my mom I'd pay $1,000+ to get another Dixie :)

R.I.P. Dixie

I haven't been on in a while, got lots of pictures to post but am posting bad news instead. Our Australian Shepherd Dixie passed away on October 6, 2009. We are really struggling without her here :(

She was such a big part of our life and did everything with us that it makes it 10 times harder. It's like losing a close family member :( I know we'll get through it but she was such a wonderful dog and we know she'll always watch over us but we miss her sooo much!

When I'm up for it I'll do another post about everything else.

Lake Shasta!

At a grocery store in California, they were amazed that you could buy liquor in the store and it was cheap too!

We went to Lake Shasta in the later part of August, there was 22 of us that went and we rented 2 house boats for 4 days. We drove to Ashland and camped overnight since we couldn't find anywhere near Shasta to camp at, we stayed in a campground that had a ton of hippies, we were asked by 2 different people around midnight when we pulled in "Are you guys on a journey?" It was hilarious! We got to Lake Shasta the next morning and packed up the boats and found a cove to park in. It was in the 100's while we were there but we were in the water all weekend which was reported as being 76-80 degrees, perfect! We basically hung out all weekend, floating in tubes, on the Oasis Island (giant intertube), ate and did a lot of drinking the whole weekend! We had a wonderful time with everyone. Our friend Katie and her brother DJ brought their wave runners and took people for rides, did wakeboarding, and thankfully she was able to go get ice on the waverunners. It definitely would be better to have a ski boat but with the amount of people we had, we could have had an easy 3 ski boats. Everyone had a blast!

Proof we had a great weekend, Huffy passed out on the Oasis Island :)

Now it's back to reality! All our trips for the year are done! Being out of the gym for a month
and not eating healthy caught up to me, gained a few pounds but I'm working on getting back on track, I know I can do it! :)

Right before we left for Shasta my friend Amber & her husband Chris had their baby, they didn't find out the sex before so it was exciting to hear they had a healthy baby boy! Amber was induced but ended up having a c-section. Congratulations to the new parents :)

Kauai

Trip to Kauai for 9 days was awesome! We went with my mom's friend Jessica and her family and had a great time relaxing. My friend Yolanda, Kanoe and their son KJ and a childhood friend Chito all live on Kauai and all came to hang out with us! We stayed in a house on Poipu Beach that had a pool! True paradise! Enjoy the pictures!

A bunch of our group jumped into the neighbors pool and
I was taking pictures and Scott ended up holding these drinks! LOL!
