Surprise Party, Weddings & Vacation

We had a surprise party for Jeremy's 30th Birthday on June 27th. Matt, Julie & I (Matt did all the hard work!) planned a surprise party for Jeremy at La Sierra. He ended up being late because we obviously couldn't tell him what we were up to. Jeremy had gone rafting with Bryan and some of their co-workers on the Clackamas River and lost track of time. All in all the party went great, and he was surprised. We left after only 3 hours because friends kept buying him Patron shot after shot, along with other shots and he was wasted by then.

A few weeks later my sorority sister JoAnna got married to Joseph on July 11, 2009 at Wine Country Farm in Dayton, Oregon. They had a beautiful wedding and the weather was nice for an outdoor wedding! Funny thing about my friend JoAnna is that Jeremy's dad Gene has known her dad Mike forever (25+ years I believe) and I met JoAnna at Portland State University in Phi Sigma Sigma! What a small world!

I was intending on finishing this posting before our Alaska cruise...didn't happen but I did and you can tell by the date ;)

I'll do another post about our Alaska cruise this week :)

1st Anniversary,Trips & Tulips

I know I know, I haven't blogged in a while but am making up for it by a nice post with lots of pictures!

I went to California in April for a business trip and flew in on Saturday and spent the weekend with my friend Emily in Laguna Beach.  I was also able to catch up and see Jeremy's cousins Danielle, Kaelee and their boyfriends.  It was a wonderful weekend!

We celebrated Scott’s 16th Birthday on April 23, 2009 at Benihana.  I made him a tasty chocolate cake with his birthday present as part of the cake.  He loved the cake and is so excited to go to Winchester Bay with us! Aunty Connie flew in and surprised him at the restaurant.  We had a wonderful weekend and went to the tulip farm in Woodburn which was amazing! We also did the March of Dimes walk in Portland on April 25, 2009 and I exceeded my goal on raising money!

We celebrated our first wedding anniversary at Kincaid’s Fish & Chop House.  Perfection Bakery made us an anniversary cake for free by taking them a picture of our wedding cake, and they re-made the top for us.  We went hiking at Multnomah Falls on our anniversary, and took Dixie with us.  We had a great time and the weather couldn't have been any better! I can’t believe how fast this year flew by but it has truly been an amazing year! We’ve made so many memories and so many more wonderful years are ahead!

Dixie is doing great - she is pretty much full grown.  After the March of Dimes walk we met Jeremy at Champoeg State Park and almost all the littermates and some from another litter all met up.  Dixie’s mom was there and they had a wonderful time frolicking around.  One of the ladies that came is a professional photographer so she captured some great photos!

We went to Winchester Bay for Memorial Day weekend and had an awesome time! The weather was nice but was windy.  Scott hurt himself jumping on Jeremy's quad. He ended up just skinning and spraining his knee but blew out the knee of his new riding pants that arrived the day we left, I guess you have to expect that when your a dare devil!

Me on my quad 'Lois' - Jeremy had the wheels powder coated black right before we left

Part of our group...this was only part of them!

Scott - jumping Jeremy quad, luckily I got a good picture of him
because this was his last ride for the weekend after getting hurt.

My friend Amber is coming into town on June 20th from Boise for her baby shower, I'm looking forward to seeing her and her mom Patty.

Jeremy is turning 30 this month, we're going to have a BBQ with family over to celebrate his birthday.

Checking in

I thought I'd write a little note.

I am thankful that I got a bonus AND a raise at work with the way the economy has been and people not getting raises or bonuses.

Dixie is going to be a year old on tax day, April 15, 2009! She's such an amazing dog!! I took this picture of her last week while we were outside playing with the ball!

I'm planning on going to Hawaii in August with my mom and brother, my mom's friend is renting a house on Poipu Beach on Kauai, so I'm pretty excited about that! Jeremy isn't going since we'll already been off for a week in July for our Alaska Cruise and a long weekend at the end of August.  I don't think he minds since I'm totally going to do absolutely nothing and relax!

At the end of August we are going to be going to Lake Shasta in California for a long 4 day weekend with a bunch of our friends (The Mexico crew and about another 10 people), we're getting 2 house boats so it'll be a fun filled weekend for sure!

I'm looking forward to our trip to Winchester Bay for Memorial Day weekend with our friends Matt and Julie and we're taking my brother but he doesn't know yet...it's a birthday surprise for him...which he will be ecstatic about since Winchester Bay is his FAVORITE place to ride, we decided to tell him on his birthday because he'd be SO excited that he'd talk non-stop about the trip for months and months :)

We paid off Jeremy's truck last month...I call it his truck even though I drive it as my daily driver.  It's huge but we decided that when Jeremy got his job he got a company car and the truck was hardly ever driven to sell my Acura TSX and that I'd drive the truck.  We couldn't sell the truck because the Acura couldn't possibly tow a trailer with 2 quads!

I joined Weight Watchers with my mom last month just to be sure to stay on track to eat health and help motivate each other.  I got a new membership to 24 Hour Fitness since Costco was selling a 2 year membership that was ridiculously cheap, so I've been hitting the gym on average of 4 times a week during my lunch break and have lost 8 pounds already! Mom has lost about 5 pounds already! So we're enjoying it!! :)

Updates!

Us at Matt & Jillian's Wedding

I'm a terrible blogger!

I'm not as good as Melissa and Amber! Congratulations to Melissa who added two little ones to her family from Ethiopia...they are also expected a baby in July.  Congratulations to Amber and Chris who are also expecting in August! I need to blog more frequently so I don't have hundreds of pictures that I want to put on here!

Well, we've been keeping busy since the holidays. We had a wonderful time in Cancun with all of our friends!  We rented jet skiis, went on a jungle tour, went to the Mayan Ruins, Xel-Ha (all inclusive water park), went parasailing, went to the Isla Mujeres (Island of Women), enjoyed laying by the pool/beach, and drank.  We went with a group of 13 of us, and had a blast!

Here is a picture of our group!

Shortly after being home from Mexico we had to travel to Sonora, California to burry my Grandpa Kevin (aka Grandpa Sonora)'s ashes next to my Grandma.  We had a nice time seeing family and my brother's Nico and Ro met up with us for lunch! It was great to have a positive spin on the trip!

We have a new niece, Jeremy's brother Tim and his wife Christal had their daughter Savannah Rose Sanders on February 2, 2009 she weighed 8 lbs 8.5oz and was 20.5" long.  The delivery was rough and she had to be born via c-section.  She is a really good baby too!

We went to one of Holly's co-worker's wedding on February 21, 2009.  Jillian and Matt were married at Faith Savior Ministries and had their reception at the Acadian Ballroom.  We had a great time at the wedding! Below is a picture of Mr. & Mrs. Wisbeck that their photographer Jessica Hill posted on her blog:

In other news, our friends Travis & Darcie are engaged! Congrats!

I'll leave you with a picture of Miss Dixie who will be a year old on tax day! She has been an awesome dog and we are so glad we got her!

Happy Holidays!

Mr. & Mrs. Sanders

I've been inspired by a few friends to finally start my own blog!

As you all know 2008 has been a wonderful year!

Jeremy started a new job in March as a Merchandiser. He gets to work with his friend Bryan.

Jeremy and I got married on May 17, 2008. It was an amazing day! I was mentally prepared that it would likely rain on our wedding day since May in Oregon is unpredictable! Well, to my surprise it was somewhere near 90! I couldn't believe it! We got some amazing photographs thanks to Brandon with Foto Vitae! He did an amazing job shooting our wedding and I think he enjoyed spending the day with all of us! :)

We left the day after our wedding for Hawaii. We stayed on Kauai, where I showed Jeremy around where I used to live and we got to see Yolanda, Kanoe and Chito. We had an amazing time! We went on a sunset dinner cruise, snorkling, zip line tour and relaxed. We then flew to Oahu and stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki for the remainder of our trip. They upgraded our room and selected us as guest of the day. They gave us gorgeous leis and 2 tickets for a catamaran ride. We ate at Duke's again and checked out the Dole factory.

My parents got us a puppy as one of our wedding gifts. We got our Australian Shepherd puppy Dixie on June 21, 2008. She was born on April 15, 2008. She came from the same mom and dad that Lexi was from. We signed Dixie up for puppy classes at Schroeder's Den. She is such a smart puppy! She loves giving kisses too!

My sister Jayme had another little one: Cody James Tinder, born on August 9, 2008.

Cody & I during his visit in December 2008.

In September my niece Makayla, newphew Zaccary, their dad Ben (Ben Ben as we call him) moved to Oregon with his girlfriend Nichole and her two boys Tristan & Talen.

My Grandpa Sonora passed away on November 12, 2008. We enjoyed having him live in Oregon for the remainder of his time with us.

Several of our friends and family got married this year! Scott & Lindsay Crowell, Jerod & Jill Verboort, Noelle & Eric Martz, and Tim & Christal Sanders.

2008 has been a wonderful year! We are getting ready to head to Cancun, Mexico from January 6, 2009 - January 13, 2009. We are going with a huge group of friends: Matt, Julie, Jeff, Katie D., Travis, Darcie, Bryan, Trish, Dustin, Julio & Casey! We are staying at an all-inclusive resort and can't wait to go on vacation!!!!

I'm looking forward to 2009!
